"iLumina"
is a fantastic teaching aid which I
use all the time. It is a professionally constructed program which
makes the most of computerised animation. It is extremely cheap
considering the technical and personal input that made it.
You can visit their site at
www.ilumina.com
We also encourage the use of games in teaching. Here are the reasons why we use them
We are listing them here because they are extremely difficult to get hold of. It has taken years of searching to find these because they are rarely stocked in Christian bookshops. Therefore, because our concern is to promote these kinds of resources, we are more than happy to pass these on for little more than they cost us and the price of the postage. Prices vary so send us an email, stating which games you are interested in, and we will find out the current price if they are available.
Catechumen
was the name given to trainee disciples in the early church. Still
my favourite. Quite old but still very addictive, but you SAVE men
with the Sword of the Spirit which never loses its power. No blood
or gore. Even demons are sent to the abyss instead of being killed!
The game has its own website,
www.catechumen.com.
On the Catechumen video page (click the picture) you can find some
extra software that allows a game-pad to be used with the game. I
have also included some interesting tips, maps and cheats
(Christians cheat?! Heaven forbid!)
Heaven Quest is a computerised version of a board game, a simple race with questions and answers. You must pray to receive grace with which to overcome temptation. If you fall you can’t advance.
Bible Challenge is a simple quiz game, but the questions are read out to you, a major boost for anybody trying to learn to read and learn the Bible together.
Bibleopoly
is a Christian version of Monopoly. This makes it very easy to grasp
BUT we build churches, not houses (Haggai 1v3). We give and receive
voluntary offerings, rather than demanding rent. We help one another
instead of competing.
Bible
Pictionary game is simple and has
the advantage that only half the people have to read. The one who
can read is given something from the Bible to draw on paper, and the
others must guess what it is.
Bible Trivia
quiz games excellent for both testing and learning. Questions may
prove tough for some, but simpler questions are available. The
travel version of Bible Trivia is small and compact
Bible Man
must race to save souls from the enemies of God and deliver them to
the Church. Good principles of good against evil. No Bible knowledge
needed, so excellent for young children.
What Would Jesus Do?
and Follow the Leader present moral dilemmas to help us examine what
we believe. WWJD is recommended for adults. Follow the leader is the
young version. Follow the Leader is much smaller.
Solomon's Temple
is a superb game, but very complicated. One player gathers sections
and furnishings for Solomon’s Temple, whilst his opponent attacks
him with armies and sin. All parts and contents of Temple are
learned as part of the game. Big spiritual message: you can’t build
anything until you have an altar and priest with which to deal with
sin (Ezra 3v2-3).

Talicor is not a Christian games maker, but they have produced some Christian games.
